God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Matthew 6:9; John 5:19-24; Ephesians 1:3-6; 2:1-10)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (John 1:14-18; Colossians 1:15-20)
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. (John 16:7-11; Ephesians 2:10; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:22-25)
The Bible is God’s word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is the truth, because it is inspired by God without any mixture of error. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. (Genesis 1-3; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:1-3)
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it by faith. We can never make up for our sin by good works. Professing faith in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness of sins is the only way anyone can be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9; Hebrews 10:10-14; 1 John 5:11-13; Galatians 3:26; John 3:16)
It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations.(Matthew 9:37-38; 10:5-15; 13:18-30, 37-43; 16:19; 28:18-20; Luke 10:1-18; 24:46-53; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 13:2-3; 2 Timothy 4:5; Revelation 22:17.)
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the unity of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God’s image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:15-25; 3:1-20; Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Joshua 24:15; Proverbs 17:6; 18:22; 22:6,15; 23:13-14; 31:10-31; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; 9:9; Matthew 5:31-32; Mark 10:6-12; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Ephesians 5:21-33; 6:1-4; Colossians 3:18-21; 1 Timothy 5:8,14; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Peter 3:1-7.)
